1. What is the most exciting and energizing aspect of your current position?

The people I work with. They energize me and help me to be the best I can be.

2. What was the last interesting book you read?

A Thousand Splendid Suns. Even though Khaled Hosseini always makes me cry, I always enjoy his work.

3. What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my increased improvements in the various software that we use on a day to day basis.

4. How do you define success? And measure it?

Success is when the skills you practice and care about achieve positive outcomes whether that is over a short or long period of time. I measure success by comparing my past work and accomplishments to my present work and attempt to not compare myself to others.

5. We are Iowa Women in Architecture; who were the female role models that inspired you?

Julie Stevens, Julie Fillenwarth, Heidi Hohmann, Caroline Westort, Paula Streeter, and my mom. I’ve been fortunate to have had many strong female role models to look up to.
