Female college students can apply to UI leadership institute
Enrollment is open for the University of Iowa Women's Resource and Action Center's ninth annual Iowa N.E.W. Leadership Institute, an intensive, nonpartisan institute designed to empower women across the political spectrum and increase the participation of underrepresented groups in the public sector. The free statewide program brings in nearly 50 Iowa speakers, including elected officials and nonprofit executives. The institute will be held May 23-27. Women enrolled in any post-secondary academic institution in Iowa, female Iowa residents attending college outside the state and female graduate students should apply by Feb. 16. Nominations from college professors are recommended but not required and are due Jan. 29. For more information, visit the Iowa N.E.W. website.
